Greetings from the Sub-Arctic!
So much snow! We added a foot on the ground over the past week. It now goes half-way up Stanley’s body, but it’s better to have that much snow on the ground as insulation. As it is, we get a hard freeze of the ground to about four-feet deep. Without the insulation, it goes deeper and puts septic tanks at risk. My tank is buried deep – the top is six feet below ground, but little snow and -30F temperatures could combine to threaten even my tank. With the extra snow, all is well. But Stanley!
The little man only likes winter when it’s warm enough that he doesn’t have to wear his boots. He’s also not happy when he can’t go where he wants because the snow is too deep. He wanted to sniff a set of big dog prints down by the road, but his dog feet fell through the snow bank and he got buried up to his chest. His feet never touched anything solid. He used his back legs to pull himself out and settled for looking forlornly over the berm left by the plow.
Keep reading to the bottom because there’s a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card (I gave away a $50 gift card for the December 6 newsletter to Tom Intiso– congratulations!) and thank you for reading my newsletter 🙂

Heretic (Zenophobia #1).
An anthropomorphic space opera: Think Island of Dr. Moreau meets Indiana Jones in space. A ragtag band of enemies on a search for the Truth.
Where did the Zenomorphs come from?
Tigers, wolves, gorillas, and bears. Four planets at each other’s throats. But they have too much in common for it to be a fluke. Just mentioning the possibility that they descended from the same place gets one labeled as a Heretic.
When Sankar comes into possession of a religious text that hints at where they came from, he seizes the opportunity and makes it his mission to find the Truth.
But he needs help from all the races. With a stolen warship and a ragtag band of criminals, Sankar sets out to answer the question that is illegal to ask.
Zenophobia. Where fear of the other races started a religion and perpetuated a war.
It’s time for the worlds to embrace the future by learning their past. But the governments aren’t keen on upsetting the status quo and do everything in their power to stop Sankar and his team.
Island of Dr. Moreau meets Indiana Jones, in space, with cutting edge technology…
From two award winning science fiction authors, an archaeological space adventure that you’ll want to read today.
Authors’ note: We went with Zenophobia with a “z” vs xenophobia with an “x” because the correct spelling of the word is too rooted in bad stuff that happens on Earth. This is a story set in space.
