Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence – is the key to unlocking our potential. – Liane Cordes
Greetings from Atlanta!
As part of supporting other authors, I am still on the epic Drive Across America. Since Wichita, I’ve stopped in Fort Worth, had to cancel Houston, New Orleans, & Mobile because of weather, and then spent two days in both Memphis and Nashville. I have a meetup later today in Jacksonville, Florida and then one final stop in St. Petersburg before four days of Novelists Inc. On Sunday, I return home to Fairbanks, finally, after being on the road since Sep 3.. Came out to thirteen stops in sixteen days. Of course, I’m back on the diet after eating in restaurants for three weeks.
Because of canceling the event in Mobile, Alabama due to Tropical Storm Nicholas, I had the opportunity to go to Graceland instead. I have to say, I liked it. Elvis, baby. He was the King, but I’m not sure he wanted to fill that role. Here I am eating his favorite fried peanut butter and banana sandwich. One of those was plenty…
Meanwhile in Alaska, Stanley is exploring the house looking for the warmest places to hang out. Here he is on the double yoga mat in front of the pellet stove:

Love-Haight Case Files Book 1 is on sale for 99 cents (US/UK only) through Sep 24.
Because Love-Haight Case Files Book 2 is now available and both can be read in Kindle Unlimited, too
Supernatural beings are willing to fight for their legal rights!
Since the Summer of Love, the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco has been known for attracting weird and unconventional souls, but things got even stranger when the monsters moved in.
Magic has returned to the world and with it a host of supernatural creatures—not just vampires and ghosts, but sentient gargoyles, ghouls, sprites, faeries, and more. The frightened citizenry, holier-than-thou bigots, headline-seeking reporters, and harried police refer to them as OTs (Other-Than-Humans), but Thomas Brock and Evelyn Love believe even supernatural creatures have legal rights.
Delve into their case files for a genre-bending mix of mystery, horror, suspense, thrills, courtroom drama, and romance. The city’s OT element is sometimes malevolent, sometimes misunderstood, and often discriminated against. Brock and Love represent them all, dead, undead, or alive—whatever the case, whatever the species.

Not Enough Book #1, Echo Breaker, a coming of age fantasy. This balances well for readers of all ages, but especially for those who are growing up and wondering what their place is. A little something for every reader. Books #1 and #2 are written and off to the editor. Here are the final covers for the series. I’m 58 years old, and I thought this was a great story (I’m sure I”m biased but a good story is a good story).
Echo Breaker – October 18th (https://geni.us/NotEnough1)
Echo Chaser – November 2nd (https://geni.us/NotEnough2)
Echo Ender – December 13th (pre-order not quite ready)
Shadow Vanguard 6 – Family Reunion
Tommy D’s (God rest his soul) final book. I only have about forty pages left to rewrite and am making great progress. I could be finished with this in just a few days. Coming in October – look for Family Reunion
Ian Bragg 4 – A Fatal Bragg
The Marines are under fire…
…and it takes someone outside the government to fix the problem.
Ian and Jenny Bragg return in this standalone suspense action adventure. It’s a race against the clock and a group that’s been in place for years…
Coming November 26th.
A Fatal Bragg – https://geni.us/IanBragg4
Zenophobia – the trilogy. Anthropomorphic space opera: Think Island of Dr. Moreau in space without the horror, just the search for truth.
Coming October 25th.
Glory – An epic military science fiction tale. We’re at 100k words and winding down with an earth-shaking climactic battle in Book #1. Glory will publish this year. Books #2 and #3 will probably push to next year, but did I tell you that it’s epic? One old ship, barely out of mothballs, little better than scrap, challenged with nothing less than defeating a superior alien enemy. But it carries a secret the aliens don’t know and may not be ready for. Only one shot to save humanity.
Coming November 22nd.
I have a short story in a Baen anthology called No Time for Knights coming this fall – a little Sci-Fi Noir. A washed-up cop in an America taken over by AI.
A Couple’s Travels – Egypt is finished and in the extensive formatting process. If you haven’t seen our books on Yellowstone & Mt. Rushmore & The Black Hills, you should check them out.
Probably coming in October.
