Greetings from the Sub-Arctic FINALLY, I’m back to some semblance of 100%. Head is clear, lungs are clear, and I just took Stanley for a walk through the woods and was breathing just fine – no threat of an asthma attack. It’s 22F out which is where I need to be able to go outside. Stanley is digging the warmth of twenty degrees and warmer. He can go outside without his gear on. He much prefers that even though he’s not keen on staying outside for too long. He prefers sleeping where he is an Olympic-caliber sleeper, being out for a solid 20-22 hours per day. In any case, I’m clear-headed enough to stay focused on writing Starship Lost 1. I’d love to get it done by the end of December or the first week in January, if possible. I’m getting more and more words each day. Now at 20k words. Target is 90k-100k. I can get there. Owing to the long delay in production, I’m re-wickering the 2023 schedule once again. Won’t publish Starship Lost 1 until fall of 2023, then we’ll drop the books with a delightful regularity. See the “What’s Next” section at the end. |
Teleport: 99c Special |
“Joshua T. Calvert has a gift for making nail-biting science fiction that you can’t put down. Get ready for some sleepless nights!” – M.A. Rothman, USA Today bestselling author In Lake Maracaibo, in the northwestern part of Venezuela, a long-hidden extraterrestrial artifact underneath the ocean floor triggers a disaster. The U.S. military launches an expedition, sending a cutting-edge team of international researchers to the source of a magnetic instability that’s destroying any electronics in the region. Inside the large artifact is a chamber that’s large enough for the researchers to enter. After a shocking death, the scientists from the US, Europe and Russia realize that it is a teleportation device. But they soon face a fundamental question: Why do those who enter the chamber fall into a coma? Are they traveling to other places, or is it all just an illusion? Dream or reality, the other side of the teleporter turns out to be a hell that puts not only the team, but the entire project to the test – because they are not alone out there. Get it for 99c! |

Zenophobia #6: Emancipation coming on December 30th! |
Time’s run out for the zenos of Hinteran space. The devourers from the Pacjolal disc world have come to ravage every world, strip them of their resources. A merciless, all-consuming enemy which cannot be reasoned with. Even with the combined space fleets of Oterosan, Angelos, Medvegrad, and Cornelior working together, there doesn’t seem to be much hope of repelling the semi-intelligent machines. But Sankar—the Heretic of Oterosan—has finally established contact with forces from Earth. Or at least, a Confederation of colonies descended from Earth long past. They aren’t the near-omnipotent people Sankar had secretly hoped, but they might be Sankar’s best and only allies against the machine menace which threatens to devour the zeno universe whole. |
