I had to race down to Phoenix this last week as my mom is on her last leg. My brother told me to hurry, so I did. She looked pretty bad but was still upright. Unfortunately, she didn’t know who I was, but I kept my dad company. Mom’s pallor was a bit gray and she’s extremely frail. I was roasting, but she was cold. That’s no surprise. I was only gone for a couple days. I left early Tuesday morning and returned Friday afternoon. The second I got home, Stanley and I were back into the woods. We lost a lot of leaves in that short time, but the view from the airplane was spectacular as we descended over Fairbanks. This is the view of the Fort Wainwright golf course and some of the army base. The tree colors are much brighter in person. My camera and the airplane window dampened the brightness. It wasn’t gloomy at all.  Have some birch trees! We have thousands on our property. It’s impressive and I have yet to tap one for birch syrup. I gotta learn that skill because I wouldn’t have to walk more than a hundred yards from the house.  Keep reading because Battleship Leviathan #5 – Leviathan Rises is LIVE!
