Greetings from the Sub-Arctic!
It’s getting to be that time. The leaves are changing and lows are dropping into the 30s (F). That’s a bit cold: Stanley would be fine, except for the rain. So, he’s been trying out his coat which looks more like a warhorse blanket. It keeps a lot of the rain from his short hair.
As long as it’s not raining, he needs his body to get a little cold to encourage and accelerate his dog fur growth. He needs more self-protection if he’s going to manage the severe winter where temperatures are going to be sixty or seventy degrees colder than they are now. A thick fur on his body will help. Our last pitbull, Phyllis grew a thick and shaggy coat her first winter (the average temperature in November that year was -30F) and had it for the rest of her days.
Stanley is a good boy 🙂 He’ll come through with an impressive dog coat, I have no doubt.

Cosmic Visionaries StoryBundle – What a collection!
What is it about space opera that makes us love it so much? The action, the exotic settings, the colorful characters, the alien species? The promise of countless adventures in the face of the great unknown? The excitement of imagining what humanity may someday become and accomplish in the vast reaches of the final frontier?
Or is it mostly just that space opera is so gosh-darn cool? The ships…the technology…the planets…the ray guns and laser swords. In many ways, it’s the ultimate escapist genre, transporting us to places and situations that dwarf our everyday troubles in every possible way. And yet, at its heart, space opera is all about us, about what it means to be human and how we can triumph over our limitations.
This bundle is available only for a limited time via http://www.storybundle.com. It allows easy reading on computers, smartphones, and tablets as well as Kindle and other ereaders via file transfer, email, and other methods. You get multiple DRM-free formats (.epub, .mobi) for all books!

Love – Haight Case Files Book 1 – by Jean Rabe & Donald J. Bingle, published by Craig Martelle, Inc
Supernatural beings are willing to fight for their legal rights!
Since the Summer of Love, the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco has been known for attracting weird and unconventional souls, but things got even stranger when the monsters moved in.
Magic has returned to the world and with it a host of supernatural creatures—not just vampires and ghosts, but sentient gargoyles, ghouls, sprites, faeries, and more. The frightened citizenry, holier-than-thou bigots, headline-seeking reporters, and harried police refer to them as OTs (Other-Than-Humans), but Thomas Brock and Evelyn Love believe even supernatural creatures have legal rights.
Delve into their case files for a genre-bending mix of mystery, horror, suspense, thrills, courtroom drama, and romance. The city’s OT element is sometimes malevolent, sometimes misunderstood, and often discriminated against. Brock and Love represent them all, dead, undead, or alive—whatever the case, whatever the species.
Available in Kindle Unlimited. Read at no additional cost beyond your membership.

Arrival – by Jasper T. Scott, only 99 cents
FROM MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER JASPER T. SCOTT
THEY HAVE ARRIVED.
2150 AD: Chris Randall just lost his job as a bodyguard. That night, after picking up his wife, Bree, from her shift at a local casino, he breaks the bad news.
Moments later, thunder cracks the sky, but there’s no lightning. Flaming debris rains across the valley, and a dark mass goes sailing out of the clouds, headed straight for LA.
It’s not one of the Union’s starships, because they can’t defy gravity like that. But then what is it?

What else am I working on? So much stuff…
Do you want to read the books below before anyone else, like before they even go to the editor? Join my Patreon at the second level and you’ll get complete books when they’re finished. I’ve already posted five or six books on Patreon that won’t publish until the fall. Don’t wait. Read now. You can get them there along with a metric butt-ton of other stuff – https://www.patreon.com/craigmartelle
Battleship: Leviathan Book 3 – is edited, proofread, and with the publisher. This series weighed in at 245k words. My beta readers had these fine things to say.
“Excellent story! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Very nice balance of action, humor and serious, thought-provoking topics. The characters were all engaging and memorable. The pace was excellent. The story was fun and very entertaining.”
“Wow, just wow! What a ride. Edge of your seat action – start to finish.”
“Fantastic action kept the pace fast. The character interaction was fun, insightful, and real. Hate to see the end of the series.”
“Fantastic close out. I really want to know what happens next and so will your readers.”
The first book is available for pre-order for only 99 cents! ONLY 99 CENTS! And you’ll be reading it on October 5th when it publishes.
Battleship: Leviathan – October 5th (https://geni.us/BL01)
Leviathan’s War – November 2nd (https://geni.us/BL02)
Leviathan’s Last Battle – December 7th (https://geni.us/BL03)
The Expanding Universe 7 – Pre-order is up because DAMN! This is shaping up to be one fine collection with a critical mass of all-star authors. My story, A Deadly Game, is a nice piece of work (I hope you think so, too). I’m compiling the stories now and should have the compiled within a day or two.
Zenophobia – the trilogy. Anthropomorphic space opera: Think Island of Dr. Moreau in space without the horror, just the search for truth.
Glory – An epic military science fiction tale. We’re at 100k words and winding down with an earth-shaking climactic battle in Book #1. Glory will publish this year. Books #2 and #3 will probably push to next year, but did I tell you that it’s epic? One old ship, barely out of mothballs, little better than scrap, challenged with nothing less than defeating a superior alien enemy. But it carries a secret the aliens don’t know and may not be ready for. Only one shot to save humanity.
Not Enough Book #1, Echo Breaker, a coming of age fantasy. This balances well for readers of all ages, but especially for those who are growing up and wondering what their place is. A little something for every reader. Both books #1 and #2 are written and off to the editor. Here are the final covers for the series. I’m 58 years old, and I thought this was a great story (I’m sure I”m biased but a good story is a good story).
I have a short story in a Baen anthology called No Time for Knights coming this fall – a little Sci-Fi Noir. A washed-up cop in an America taken over by AI.
A Couple’s Travels – Egypt is finished and going to formatting soon. If you haven’t seen our books on Yellowstone & Mt. Rushmore & The Black Hills, you should check them out.
End Days #5, Beyond Alpha – fans of End Days, you wanted more, you’re getting more, the rest of the story is coming, 80,000 words. Going to the editor today and getting its cover in another couple weeks. There will be no hold up to publication. As soon as it’s ready, it’ll go live.
And Ian Bragg #4, A Fatal Bragg is at 50,000 words. It’s rolling right along. Shooting for 70k-80k words total, and then I’ll probably publish in November once the audiobook is ready and the German translation is underway.
