2020 can suck it. I’m staying out of the political firefights – no one wins in those. The end of the US election process can’t come soon enough and yes Facebook, by all that’s holy, I am going to vote. Stop sending me notices even though I opted out of them on the settings page.
I learned that Raymond L. Weil (https://www.amazon.com/Raymond-L-Weil/e/B00288AOB2) passed away. He is the science fiction author who convinced me that my stories could sell. I’ve talked with him over the years, but not as much as I could have. We both had our books to write and businesses to run. Ray posted last week that he was halfway finished with his work in progress and it would probably be ready in another month. I have communicated with his sister and volunteered to finish that book for him. I know there are people who will do that for me. Paying it forward, so to speak.
There will be a delay in my own books as I get Ray’s final book finished, but I hope everyone understands that I must do it. I’ve finished the series with Frank Roderus (passed in 2015), still working on the series with Tom Dublin (passed in 2018) but we have two more books written, but they need to be rewritten. That is taking far longer than I wanted, but we’re still on it.
And now we’ll add Ray’s work in his most successful universe. Probably 30k to 40k words remaining. I’ll read the lead up and do the best I can to wrap the storyline. No one needs to leave their final work out of sight of their readers. I hope we can get into his newsletter email provider for a couple last emails to his followers, let them know and energize them to pick up this last book and any others they may have missed.
Here’s to Ray. One final hoorah.

Raymond Weil is one of my favorite authors. In fact, I started reading SF novels reading his Moon Wreck and Slaver Wars series. I have been reading SF ever since. I
I am truly sorry to hear about his passing. I will miss his books, the ones that won’t be written. I am very happy to hear that his unfinished book will be finished.
