Daily lows are above 0F, mostly…
Greetings from the Sub-Arctic!

We had some excitement this week at the ol’ homestead. It started a week ago when I went outside in the morning to look for the northern lights. I strolled my happy ass out into the middle of my driveway, looking up at the sky.

Movement to my side caught my eye. A cow moose and her calf were going to town on our Thanksgiving pumpkin. I ran. They ran. Everyone ran. But they quickly returned to finish off their meal.

A low point in my week - no sleep and no air.

Never mess with moose. They are huge, and in Alaska, they kill more people each year than bears. The picture is from later in the morning. This is the closest I’m willing to let Stanley get as long as there is a fence in between.

A low point in my week - no sleep and no air.

Or the more staid approach, watching them from the couch. Stanley got tired of trying to see out the window.

What do we have going this week?

Hell Divers! This is a great series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. It has moved from Blackstone to Aethon, my publisher for the Battleship Leviathan series and the upcoming Starship Lost series. Give Hell Divers a read - the whole series is now in Kindle Unlimited!

Hell Divers: Only 99 cents in all markets - but read it in KU first :)

The New York Times Bestselling series is now available in Kindle Unlimited for the first time and includes an exclusive NEW novella at the end.

They dive so humanity survives…

More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers—men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

When one of the remaining airships is damaged in an electrical storm, a Hell Diver team is deployed to a hostile zone called Hades. But there’s something down there far worse than the mutated creatures discovered on dives in the past—something that threatens the fragile future of humanity.

Veracity of Failure is in the works - I’ve outlined the story and Scott Sakatch is doing the heavy lifting with the writing. We’re almost at 30,000 words and it’s looking good. A hard sci-fi thriller where the world’s richest race to be the first to put humans on Mars.

Glory #3 detailed outline is still being massaged. Once the writing begins, it’ll go fast.

Starship Lost #2 is through my proofreading team and off to the publisher (Aethon).  I’ll work on Starship Lost #3 as soon as I’m finished with Jack Foster #6.
